The Rev Cliff Bembridge was inducted as minister of Buckland URC on 10th December 2011
Cliff was born and grew up in Northern Ireland and trained for the ministry in Manchester. He has been a URC minister in Cheshire, West Yorkshire and Southampton, before coming to Buckland URC.
Cliff is passionate about justice and believes the church must be committed to serving its local community.
In Halifax he was involved in a number of significant church development projects as well as being Chair of a church based company committed to supporting the unemployed.
In Southampton he was part of the team that delivered a £1.1m re-development of Avenue St Andrew’s URC and helped the church develop as a significant community hub in the fields of family support, housing and refugees and asylum seekers.
Cliff spends a quarter of his time as minister of Buckland URC with a brief to lead the church in an exciting £1m redevelopment of their buildings. The rest of his time he is employed by IBEX – The Churches working with the Economy – Central South Coast to support churches in Portsmouth better relate to their community.
