What Should I Expect
Will I fit in?
Buckland URC are committed to welcoming people of every race, ethnicity, language, age, economic status, mental or physical ability, gender and sexual orientation into the full life of the church.
Doubters, thinkers, those seeking fellowship, those seeking space, those with children, those whose children have left home, those who do not want to get dressed up for church. All are welcome at Buckland URC.
We will not pressure you to join or make statements of faith. If you are curious, we will walk beside you as you figure it out. We do not claim to have all the answers and we do not expect you to agree with us.
If you do not find what you are looking for then please ask one of our elders or a member of the congregation.
What should I wear?
Is there anything for children?
During the service, usually after the collection, our Junior Church teachers lead children to a classroom. After the service, they re-join you during our coffee and tea period.
Alternatively, they are welcome to remain in the church with you throughout the service.
What sort of music will I hear?
Generally we use traditional hymns of praise accompanied by the organ.
At our Christmas Carol Service our new Singing Group sang for the first time. They will be singing again on Easter Sunday. If you enjoy singing you are welcome to come and join them.
We are willing to host special musicians from the area. We are open to suggestions.
